The Pook
Eleanor Charlotte Dane Stephens is my daughter, who recently turned 4. Since before she was born, she has been known as The Pook. When she’s older, she’ll probably hate being called that, but them’s the breaks, kid.
Elly is a marvelous child. She’s “bright” in numerous senses of the world, and has an incredibly commanding presence for someone of her size and age.

When I arrived at her mother’s for a visit in February, Elly came running out the door to greet me, and I hailed her with a cheery “How’s my baby?” BIG mistake. She stopped dead in her tracks, placed her hands on her hips and looked me square in the eye: “I’m NOT a baby, I’m a LITTLE GIRL. I’m NOT a baby.” I guess when they’re old enough to tell you that, you’ve little choice but to agree, right?

Longtime devotees of the Divine Miss E (and there appear to be many) might be relieved to know that I’ve a complete backup of all the photos, etc., of her that used to live on SolComm.net — I’ll try to make those available on this server at some point as well.
